GOVERNMENT

• Who governs Atlanta? The city of Atlanta is governed by Mayor Shirley Franklin and a 15-member City Council. Atlanta's city limits are primarily within Fulton County with a small portion in DeKalb County.

TAXES

Georgia has a personal income tax with a base rate plus 6% based on filing status.

HEALTH CARE

• 61 hospitals (12,000 beds), more than 130,000 health services personnel, nearly 18,000 physicians in metro Atlanta.
