REACHING OUT TO TALK TO BRIAN ENGLAND
It is pretty much a given that if you blog about me (as long as it positive, haha) your post will get reblogged by me! I am glad that Grant Schneider called me and we got to know each other better. I welcome any of you to give me a call pretty much anytime!!!
I have followed Brian England for a while in the Rain. I enjoy his lighthearted posts. Online Brian seems like an all-around nice guy. I had never met him in person but wanted to talk to him because I can relate.
We both had a great conversation on Sunday, and I learn so much more about Brian England. First of all here is something many of you do not know. Brian England was born is Oxford, England but it is a coincidence with his last name. He certainly does not sound like he comes from England because he came to the US at an early age. He grew up in California although he did get his MBA at St. John’s University in New York but he did not seem to have gotten much of an impression from New York other than riding he subway.
I like the fact that Brian gives and helps people who need it most. He works through his church to give out food boxes. We have seen him doing it while he is on the Tuesday Zoom call. I relate to that because, as I told him, I do the same types of things.
Brian got into Active Rain in 2010 when he got into real estate. He was sponsored by a lender. He didn’t get really active until several years after that. He blogs very regularly now.
Brian always looks healthy and fit so I asked him what the secret was. Well he told me that he eats healthy. He was eating a salad as we were speaking. He tells me he eats whatever Barbara Todaro says is good.
What about sports? Brian keeps active and in shape. We have seen him play tennis in videos. He also swims laps in the pool. But growing up he wanted to play basketball for the LA Lakers. At 6 feet tall he was too short.
I enjoyed our talk and look forward to a meetup at some time.
This is my second post in Kathy Streib and Hannah Williams challenge.
