I've written so many posts about how my dad is my best friend, how we talk everyday and do a lot of things together. I really try to make everyday father's day! But, this post isn't about my best friend, it is about my kids making me feel like the king of the world today.
First thing, upon waking up, they give me, not a tie like other fathers get, but the family tradition every year, of a shirt. Here is this year's shirt, and for some reason those hands keep getting bigger each year.
But, that was only the beginning of my day! At church all the primary kids sang a couple songs to us fathers and then they handed out cinnamon rolls for us to enjoy. (There goes my diet, but might as well go for bust today!)
As soon as church was over they cleaned out the back of my car with me, and in between a couple of my signs, we find my camera that has been missing for the past couple weeks. (Thanks kids, I was starting to panic!)
As soon as that was done, we loaded up the fishing poles and headed to Commonwealth Park for a couple hours to TRY to catch some fish, but nothing. But that wasn't the fun part, it was just spending the time with the kids that was fun.
Last but not least, we get home and they ask me what I want for dinner and I throw the diet out the rest of the way and say, "Let's have BBQ burgers and Onion Rings!" Thanks to the salmonella I don't have to have any of those NASTY tomatoes any where near my BBQ burger! (LOL)
So, kids, thank you for a wonderful fathers day and I really did enjoy it a lot!
