If you weren't able to make the Tuesday Zoom meeting this afternoon, we shared some tips on how to use Google maps to help your business.
I'm not going to get into the How To's of building Google Maps here, but if you've got a Google account, you'll find that creating maps is much like riding a bicycle, with a little practice it gets easier and easier. Create, make public, copy html code and drop into your Wordpress pages or your blog posts.
So without further ado, 9 ways to use Google maps to your advantage:
1. Create a map of your service area and add to your blog post signature (like we have in our blog signature).
2. Create niche maps. I've got a map with over 50 patio home communities identified.
3. Map subdivisions. Color code housing sections (condos, patio homes, single family homes).
4. Maps of communities NEAR major places of employment.
5. New construction communities (this one is a moving target, so you'll need to update)
6. Do a lot of business in a particular subdivision? Create a map and mark every home you've helped a buyer or seller.
7. Local places of interest: dog parks, kayak/canoe launch points, etc.
8. Maps don't have to be for a wide audience, you can quickly create a map for a single client and send them the link. Interested in X house? Did you know the high tension power lines are HERE and the sewage processing plant is right THERE? And prevailing winds come from THAT direction?
9. Map locations of common interest communities (golf communities, tennis, pool, etc.)
The maps can be as detailed as you like. You can add photos to the pins, link to your IDX pages, etc.
Use SEO friendly map titles and add your contact information in the map description block if you plan to make it a standalone map vs. embedding in a blog post.
Until next Tuesday, just Ask An Ambassador if you need help,
