Can't Complain About the Weather...

...but sometimes we still do.

As of today, in our fabulous city of Phoenix, we set a new record for number of days of temperatures over 110 degrees. Sure we break records all the time for weather related issues, but this time the record was shattered. The previous record was 33 days, we are currently at 50 days counting. So far 2020 hasn't let us down on record shattering events.

Yes, it's hotter than I can ever remember but I'll take the heat over the cold any day. We have air conditioners and pools to keep us cool during these hot months. And the amount of time with intense heat is far less than the months I spent in Detroit waiting for the ground to unthaw.

I've lived in several states and have visited so many others, and I have to say, I really love living in Arizona. It may have a reputation for being hot but isn't it hot everywhere in the summer? It's like this, 3 months of hot weather, 9 months of beautiful outdoor living. Of course there are challenging decisions I face every now and then. Decisions like, whether I enjoy the stunning sunrises or the gorgeous sunsets more. Which one of our beautiful national parks to visit. If I should spend my vacation on the California beaches only 5 hours away, travel north to the red rock marvel of Sedona, go skiing in Utah or just stay local and take advantage of the many 5 diamond resorts.

Let's face it, trying to decide between sunrises and sunsets is pointless because I love both. And since they are equally beautiful, I don't have to. So I'm just going to sit back, take it all in, and enjoy the show.

Oh, and did I mention I Love Arizona?

Keep making Life Beautiful!

Hi Vinicio Vacca

My husband maintains a weather station in our backyard in Sedona. (Sedona-weather.com) He has been keeping stats since 2010.  When I talk with people, they always lump Sedona into the weather of the Valley of the Sun. I have had people tell me they won't be visiting until summer is over every year!

In fact, we have had only 3 days of temps over 110º since 2016!  I was in Scottsdale on business this past week and experienced every day at about 113º to 115º.  No complaints.  This is coming from a person who used to take a vacation in Palm Springs in the summer because the kids loved swimming! Ha Ha!
