Good morning James. What a set of circumstances that Maude was a widow of a civil war soldier and lived until 2008. Maude was a strong woman. Enjoy your day!

Well I guess you could say she lived a active life. She should have written a book.

It is amazing to think of someone being able to survive on $25/month.  Money in general seems to be abundant these days so I am not even sure why countries even keep track of all the debt they owe, haha.  Will they ever pay it back or just print more of it?

Okay, I'm not really sure what William had to do with the story unless he was the last of the civil war veterans to die? You said she married two more times so again I ask... was William the longest surviving civil war veteran?

My brother in law's brother in law served in the US Army in Europe during World War I. He asked him what he was doing in the Army? Nothing to brag about. I was a corporal in charge of the laundry. Do you know I never was naturalized?  What?  He pulled out a Chinese Empire Passport. The rest is history.

That $25 bucks in 1937 amounts to $451.25 today's money with inflation included.
