Are You Moving On...Maybe to a new agency...or new city...or different career?
Don't forget those who you enjoyed working with or being around in the past!
While there are many reasons to stay in touch with old agents or clients that have passed through your life...or former co-workers...or friends...or even family...
...this blog is unselfishly reminding you that There is Gold in them there Folks!!
In the summer of 2003 my wife and I (she will say only me) made the difficult decision to move back closer to our roots in central Nebraska after a very successful 11+year run selling real estate for Re/Max Real Estate Group. We had a beautiful home with incredible views in the Springs...but In December of 2003 as our home we currently are living in was being finished...we said goodbye to hundreds, if not thousands of Colorado Springs friends, clients, agents, brokers, former co-workers, business contacts, and such.
All of our family blood relation...was in Nebraska...and the decision was made to get back around them so our kids were not alone when they were adults. That was a good decision.
However, we hated leaving the Springs, and still think about it almost daily. Great people and great views of Pikes Peak! We left those we felt were family behind...
Fast forward now to current events....
A really cool thing happened the other day...about 2 weeks ago I was contacted by a Broker I had never met about his family member who was moving here.
He had asked a real estate forum he chats with in the Springs if they knew of a great agent in Kearney. Carey Goldberg, a longtime agent in the Springs, recommended me. While I haven't seen Carey in almost 17 years...we have stayed in touch via friends on FB...https://www.facebook.com/careyteam/
Sidenote: A few years back, Mimi Foster sold a townhome for a friend of mine in Colorado Springs. https://activerain.com/profile/mimifoster Mimi and I stay in touch on many media platforms.
And now I have a new agent, https://business.facebook.com/JoshKimmelRealtor/ in my referral base thanks to his reaching out to me to represent a family member off of Carey's suggestion.
I could go on with more examples but you get the drift.
New flames ...old flames. Every agent in the business that has relocated should be contacting every agent and former contact from where they relocated from...because There is Gold in them there Folks!
Until Next time...get a hold of those old contacts...it just might pay off handsomely!
