Diane and I have not ventured out during the Pandemic Shut Down, by the California Governor. In fairness to disclosure Diane has went out once to lunch with her Boss during the past six months. I chose not to and today was a special occasion. So not wanting to go to a super upscale five star restaurant, Diane chose one of our favorite low key down to earth place: The Blue Water Grill that we have been frequenting for too many years to mention.
Just to give you an idea our favorite Waiter Sal ended up getting promoted over the years to Manager of the Restaurant. We usually go there a handful of times when we want good seafood at a relaxed price and atmosphere. They do not take reservations due to Covid so we decided to go "old people style" around 2pm we figured it would be a bit slower. Not lunch and not dinner.... so it was extra exciting to see our favorite Manager Sal. As old friends do we were bummed all of us wearing masks and not being able to hug each other.
Sal has known us over the past decade or more that we love the "view" of the channel. There were usually three tables we always loved. Today clearly thanks to Covid Pandemic it was not an option. Sal, immediately guided us to the "latest and newest patio" of the restaurant. He assured us that we would love the view. He also knew that this would be a better place for us. Diane and I prefer a quieter place so we can enjoy our food. Again we had a fantastic experience. Look at the "New Patio":))
As always the food was consistent and the service impeccable, Manager and Waitress both hovered over us like we go there every day. If you never been to the Blue Water Grill you are doing yourself a disservice. There is one in Santa Barbara, San Diego, Newport Beach and the list goes on and on. For a Chain Restaurant it is out of this world.
Needless to say we had a request that was not on the Menu but it was Diane's favorite: Ipswich Clams a very East Coast Meal they used to serve. Sal made it happen for the loyal customers, I had something I would never cook that is Fish & Chips and of course with French Fries and Coleslaw:)
BTW there really is an Ocean View I just wanted to show you the private "new patio dining area" Diane and I loved it and there really was a great ocean view.
Now it that is not enough incentive to go there, please Google my post about the Bluewater Grill in the past two decades!!
Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments.
