August 2020 Housing Reports Corpus Christi TX
The Corpus Christi Housing Market is doing very well.
The inventory is at an all time low and the sales are at an all time high. It is a great time to buy and sell real estate in the Coastal Bend due to interest rates being at an all time low, and more people working from home. Corpus Christi Texas is one of the most affordable Beach Communities in the United States. Most properties are between a few minutes to thirty minutes to the beach. We are the home of the USS Lexington, Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi Army Depo and the Texas State Aquarium.
The Medium Home Price is up 16.5% over this time last year, Active listings are Down 40% and Only 2.6 Months of Inventory compared to August 2019. Homes are averaging 59 Days on the Market and 42 Days to close. Appraisals are sometimes taking up to 2 weeks, so if you are buying, you may want to get inspections done quickly so your lender can get that appraisal ordered as soon as possible. Covid-19 is slowing the process for some lenders due to the fact they are working from home, therefore in some instances, causing a slower turn around time.
