Thankful Thursdays… Bluebirds and Happiness

When I read that today celebrates the Bluebird of Happiness, it made me think of our wonderful bluebirds at our home and on our walks.

Bluebirds have long symbolized happiness and joy. It’s easy to see why. That beautiful blue color is even more vibrant during the mating season. And the contrasting burnt orange breasts are a winning combination.  bluebird

I am so thankful that I have people I can call when things begin to go wonky.

Larry and I look for our bluebirds every day and when we see them they bring a huge smile to our faces.

When things or people around you seem to be on a collision course with your being happy...find your own bluebird.

Find a place or person that gives you inner peace and joy.

The place I enjoy the most is my backyard our neighbor loves to feed all the critters in the morning.  This provides a circus of bluebirds, redbirds, squirrels, rabbits to name a few. So I have both shoulders covered. Cheers.

When I hear the bluebird of happiness it makes me think of the movie KPax.  It's a movie that I had not heard of before I watched it and was pleased that I had watched it because it was really good.  If you have not seen it, I would recommend seeing it.

Kathy, I have a bluebird that comes by my home every so often, but the whole body is blue.   Wonder if it is a different kind of bird?

Kathy,

What a lovely post!  I have not seen a bluebird in person!  The only blue birds we have here are the jays!  Happy Thursday.  A

I am often envious of those who have Blue Birds and Cardinals in their part of the country.  We don't have them here in Sacramento.

Nina Hollander i never saw one until we moved to Northern VA.

Barbara Todaro I knew that you would. We have to have that.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 their music is very special. There was a mockingbird in our tree the other day and I stood out in the rain listening to it.

Sharon Lee I think of you when I see these little guys. We had the whole family here one afternoon...must have been a dozen of them here.
Will Hamm Maybe they're related.

Hannah Williams that's why we have the bluebird boxes. They need them because their nesting places are being taken away (by us)

Morning Kathy.

The first thing that popped into my mind was the movie K-Pax.  Not an Oscar winner, but I did like watching it.
