The Oscar

I was recently watching a movie on the American Film Classics called, "The Oscar".  Stephen Boyd played an intense role as an actor desperately seeking to win the Oscar, and would go to any lengths to make it happen.  He appealed to his agent, played by Milton Berle to help him improve his image so he would be the favorite to win.  In his plea to his agent, he mentioned the fate of "has beens" who were not able to rise to the top of their acting career.

He said they end up selling used cars or "real estate", (as if it were a dreadful thing.)  I thought it was so funny!  At the end of the movie, he "did not" win the Oscar.  Perhaps he went on to sell "real estate".
