How to become an International Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with RealEstate.com, REALTORS®

I was wondering if anyone could explain the process of becoming an International Realtor. I would like to hear some tips on what they are doing to get business, pick up clients, etc... I just got back from overseas and the market seemed much better and I would like to tap into it..

Thx

Alia- There are a few things you can do to attract international clients. First is to get your TRC designation. This allows you to get referrals through  Worldproperties.com which is the international site for Realtors. I would also recomend that you get a CIPS desigantion. This shows international Realtors that you have received extra training in dealing with international clients. These classes will show you what you need to do to tap the international markets.

Eric- This is a huge untapped market and I am surprised that relatively few Realtors go after this market. 40% of my business comes from the U.K.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

A good question -- the "how to" is the key to unlocking all new paths.    I'd be interested, too, in hearing some accounts.     Appreciated!

We have a lot of foreign investors here in Laguna and I would love to find out how to reach them. Have you heard from anyone yet on how exactly to tap into this market? I know we have a Global conference meeting for International investing coming up in Sept. in LA that I'd like to go to. Maybe they have a similar venue in Portland? Let me know if you've received any helpful information. Thanks a lot :-)

Good info, Steve. I'll definitely be looking into that, as I've got a ton of listings that would appeal to the Mexican National crowd and need to figure out how to reach them.

I am a Realtor and too I am interested in interantional realestate. Other than TRC-CIPS designation are there anyother designations that I need. Does my broker need any?
