When you live in the mountains of WNC, the iPhone is not an option... yet. The iTouch is another story. Pretty interesting post!

If only the I Phone was with a carrier that worked in our part of the world. Sounds like you are having a good time with yours.
I think iPhones are sooo cool. I'm waiting on mine for business to pick up, but eventually, I'm converting over. Everyone I know who has one, loves it.
I hate paper soooo much too! This sound like the coolest thing I've heard of in awhile!
I think the TSA agent needs to initial your ticket so they can prove that they are doing their job. ; )
Brad - I have heard a lot about the iPhone but did not realize it had the Real Estate functionality. Pretty cool!
Thats pretty kewl. I don't have an iphone but it got me to thinking about my tablet pc because I CAN sign on this screen. Hmm, I should see if they'll 'initial' my boarding ticket.
Brad - That is way better than using paper. I'm sure someone will find a wat to store the signature for people who need it. Don't we do that for credit card transactions?
Very cool, Brad ! We know you don't like paper as per Kevin's post. I'm sure some flight, boarding people would be blown away. I saw that smile on Jeff Turners face.
Brad, that's extremely cool! I agree with Pam above -- the only reason for them to initial is to show that they are doing something.
Terrific idea, Brad. Guess the airlines, and Homeland Security, are not ready to go paperless.
Jeff
I got my tablet back in December and plan to have my iphone by the end of the year. I can only handle so much tech at once. Glad to hear it's a great tool!
I can't wait until July 11th. . .New iPhone is being released and I'm getting one. Christmas in July!!! Can't wait to play with it!
July 11th will be my Christmas day, Birthday, Anniversary, and Father's Day present all rolled into one... that's cool! I'm so ready to ditch the Moto Q from Sprint!
Brad. Great experiment. It makes me think, how far are we from people being microchipped? ALL OUR INFO in a handy dandy forearm.
Susie: Yeah, I guess you could do the same thing with a touch
Jeff: For some reason, I thought you might like this. :-) Now I expect you to try the same thing on your way to Inman!
Ruthmarie: Yeah, my wife is always stealing mine. And she isn’t a gadget person like I am.
Pam: Yeah, I feel so much safer because they initialed my ticket!
Susan: haha - that would be classic. “Sign here please”
Missy: Yeah there didn’t think it would work.
Lori: I think my wife is even more excited than I am. She is getting my 1.0 version so I can get the new one.
Joe: For sure. Let me know how it works.
Thanks again everyone for leaving comments
great post.. i love my iphone.. My "secret" cool use thats not really a secret: When i get an oil change i know the coupon for a 19.99 change is on the company's website. I dont have to wait and print it at home. i just pull up the coupon online and show them it. I also used it at the movies when i forgot my credit card. I just showed them my confrimation in my email and I was in! if you find more uses, post post post!
Danielle: I love the idea of getting a coupon from a website! And soon we will be able to get the info even faster via 3G!
great post and a good idea for real estate. just to let you know, i recently flew paperless on continental airlines. they will actually send the boading pass to your pda and you pull it up when you go through security and they scan it. it was very convenient. now if only your other ideas become reality...
Hi Brad...I was impressed with what you were able to do at the airport but I'll be even more impressed when we get to Part II - Paperless Real Estate.
I sell a lot more houses than I take trips so I am patiently waiting.
Kathleen
Wow, I have an IPHONE and didn't know it could do all of that. You need to write a tutorial on how to use an IPHONE. All I use it for is to call out. I have no idea how to use anything else.
Brad this is so cool. I have the iPhone. I am going to have to try this! Thanks for the tip! ;D
that is the coolest thing I have ever heard! I cant wait till July! iPhone 2.0 baby!
wow! a techie fun gadget! I sent that blog to my boyfriend who travels a lot for a nascar team and also has an iphone. thanks soooo much for sharing!
Brad - This is an amazing story and I am continually impressed with what we can do with our technology.
Brad - great post! I wish I would have used my iPhone when I went to TN. I was always digging around for that paper ticket, this just makes good "Green" sense! Thanks for sharing your travels and airport tech tip with us! :-)
Brad what a great thought that we could go paperless.....I have it a try....
Forgot to sign-in - I hate when that happens....Brad - All I can say is that you are one high tech dude from good ole NC.... I am sure that I would love to trade in my Treo 650 for an Iphone, just have to change carriers, etc.... I will check 2.0 in July.. God bless,
It figures it would be the government employee that would be resistant to change... Can you have him write on the screen with your stylus? I can do that with my MDA...
But, I am also annoyed by paper, and am always looking for ways to eliminate it.
Brad~ that is so cool. I just traveled recently and read that my e-ticket barcode could be scanned from my phone. Now I know how it's done.
Very cool! I love it! I am a total geek too. But I haven't gone so far as to completely "write off" paper. (Duh. LOL) But I REALLY wish the real estate industry would get with the program. Why must we always be a decade (or more) behind the technology that can actually make our lives and businesses easier?
Brad - this is so cool. I really LOVED The Airport story about them scanning your iPHONE... how cool is that!! I'm impressed and can actually visualize the whole thing happening while reading your VERY descriptive blog post!

Brad, that is so amazing. I have been wanting an Iphone! I am so hooked on the Internet and web surfing I would be using it constantly. Is there a way to download data to a database from the phone? Are there certain software programs that are compatible?? I might have to jump for one of these. Thanks for the lesson.
Later in the rain~Deb
Brad, I like the functionality of the iPhone. I have been waiting for the iPhone II. Soon.... AJ
Brad.......this is totally awesome and get me that much closer to an iphone.
Who knew airline ticket agents don't have a sense of humor? That is great info, thanks for the news. I think it will be a few years before I go to the iphone but I know a few people who have them and I will let them know about this. They are not geeks. The would never figure this out.
Neat tip. Im old fashioned and stick to pen and paper though. If needed I can quickly reference and find my notes up to a year back within minutes. No battery or electronic devices to fail me when Im talking to a client.
If I get an I-Phone, does that mean I can get rid of all those stupid grocery / business discount cards on my keychain?
Brad, You know you have just acquired a customer for the iphone. I have been looking at different phones since the contract on my palm treo expired. I am having serious issues with my palm and so I was not ready for another palm. I was on the edge about the new iphone coming out in July and after reading your blog, I am definitely in. Thanks for opening my eyes to a whole new world.
I tried just taking a picture of it and it didn't work. My next try will be to scan it.
What other Iphone suggestions do you have?
WOW - that is really cool! I am forwarding this post on to my son (but he probably already knows) - wish all phones would do that!!!
Brad, you are clicking my geek buttons with this iphone! I bought a Treo phone thinking that this was the best option for the supra key, mls on the go...blah...blah..blah. I don't hate paper; however, I love convenience! Will look into it next time I go phone shopping.

I love that you're using for phone for even your boarding pass. I've never heard of that or the grocery thing. I've been using my phone like crazy for real estate stuff though. I just have a shortcut to PropertyMaps and when I'm sitting in front of a house or whatever I can get the details, pictures, comps, etc. right there. It makes things so simple and accessible. My grandpa was a successful realtor and he would have wet himself over such things...
What a fabulous idea! I will have to use this one. Thanks for the great explanation...
kk
Brad... you may be one of the coolest "geeks" out there! BTW - I used you customizer and it was great!!
I also put my Salesforce on there. Brad, know anything about Speech Cloud?
This is just amazing. I can't beleive where technology is going. I remember a few years back, ok maybe it was a bit more than a few, when it was announced that we were going to a paperless society. We all gasped. Could you imagine now carrying a checkbook or cash in your wallet. Today, I don't ever carry cash. If I do get cash I have to hurry up and give it to my wife as it scares me. I have one plastic card. If I lose it I cancel it and get a new one. Try that with cash!
I am so sold on my iPhone and cannot get over how simply and efficiently it works! Thank you for pointing out yet more great applications!
That is awesome. I don't have an iPhone, but this makes me really want to have one. The possibilities are endless.
I would have never thought of that and wouldn't have gone without
a printed ticket (on paper) Guess if I were a guy I would wear suspenders and a belt!
I know you are an iphone junkie but you should check the post I just did about the upcoming google phones. They are open source so an app like this will be much easier to get than dealing with the mess created with iphone apps.
That is just amazing! Now I see why I should have bought aniPhone instead of my BlackBerry. Oh well...
Hi, Brad
I posted your post because I thought people who may have missed it before, may want to know about this cool trick. if you haven't visited the iPhone Power group yet, check it out for info and questions from other iPhonatics
Cheers!

Nice! Now to convince myself that I can afford the monthly charges for the phone...
Brad- Very cool! I still like the paper and pen thing. I am a writer, I need my paper planner! I also have to be able to read my phone and I can not do that without my glasses on and that is a pain!
