I am reading the book, Cooked, by Michael Pollan.  He has a line in the book, "when chopping onions, chop onions."  His point, whatever you do, be there and do it well.  And I do like chopping onions.  It means something good is about to hit the table!  Have a great day!

BTW-if you like cooking, the book is excellent.  It is split up in four parts; fire, water, air and earth (bbq, braising, bread and fermentation).  Pollan's best book, The Omnivore's Dilemma.

Hi Ron and Alexandra- I would say it is a very Happy Monday now that your niece has completed the last leg of her very long journey home. Did you ever see the movie The Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves?  trying to figure out that "time" was hard. The late Roger Ebert suggested that we quit trying to figure it out but instead, sit back and enjoy the story for what it was.

HI Alexandra... I've always had a hard time relating to people who either live in the past or in their hopes for the future... they just let life pass them by. Nothing wrong with having hopes and dreams for the future, but not to the exclusion of being present in the now.

Glad to hear your niece is on the last leg of her journey.  Love the quotes especially the last one. 

Wonderful quotes and the example is a good one of it always being now. The photo makes me feel as if I could fall into the middle and just disappear.

Ya gotta love the colors of that blossom, Alexandra.  It reminds me of antiques, tea and silver.  I don't exactly know why, but it does!

Hello Alexandra and Ron - time is such an important of life.  Time seems to fly(pass) so quickly at times yet it moves like molasses at others.  Staying present is difficult.  Many, if not most, things that are worth it, are.  

There are time when I find I am distracted and not in the here and now.
