I was 10 minutes late to meet clients at a newly built home.
I didn't know the area and neither did my GPS but by some miracle, I found the road that led to two new homes in the middle of nowhere.
Because I was late, I was flustered and left my car keys tucked into my purse on the passenger seat of the car. About halfway through the house tour, I realized what I had done.
My clients were great and in 90+ degree heat, did all they could to help me break into my car but we were not successful. Then I remembered my AAA membership!
It was 11 am when I called the 800 number. The AAA associate said they hoped to have someone at the site within 55 minutes. At 11:10 am I received a text saying a driver would be there within 15 mintues.
At 11:24, Tony, my AAA road assistant arrived!
Tony hopped out of the truck with his professional car jacking tools and started chatting. After explaining what happened and why he was needed, Tony says, "Wow, way to make a professional impression on your clients." "What's your next trick?"
I burst out laughing and so did my clients who had waited with me despite me telling them they didn't have to stay.
Without my Triple AAA membership, who knows how long I would have kept my clients waiting while finding the help I needed. Instead of ruining their morning and my tightly scheduled day, my keys-in-the-car incident turned out just fine. I met a nice young man, had an adventure with clients and continued with the rest of my work day.
