More inexpensive wall art - follow up

Here's another great way to use scrapbook paper:

graphic scrapbook paper     basic grey paper

I bought 12x12 frames from Michael's that are made to frame scrapbook pages - I think they were $10/ea.  I went online to www.paperaddict.com, and bought about 50 pieces of scrapbook paper.  I got multiples of some really graphic ones, like those in the first picture.  Also, many companies sell papers in coordinating sets, like in the second picture - I can mix and match red, yellow, green, cream, etc., with those.  The papers are about 75 cents apiece (give or take...).  All I have to do is switch out the papers and I have a rotating selection of wall art to fit virtually any color scheme and interior design - from contemporary to traditional.

Hope you find this helpful!

Those are great tips Monica. All these little tips help us agents ( if we can't get a stager ;-) ) to convince sellers to stage their home for sale.

Cynthia - I just take off the backing, put in the paper, put the backing on again, and that's it - like a photograph.  No foamboard here.  The other idea is to paste the paper to 12x12 foamboard and cover the edges with ribbon, attach a sawtooth hook on the back and then hang.  The frame idea is quick and easy, and the paper can be changed as needed - and you can hang as many as you want in whatever pattern that suits.

Ginger - I've read & bookmarked your other posts about posters and blank canvas frames, and I've been wanting to try that one, too.  These frames have glass with them, and they come in black, white and red.  No, I don't paste the paper to anything - I just put it in the frame like a photo.

Some great paper companies to look up for graphic paper sets are Basic Grey, 7 Gypsies, Daisy D's, and Anna Griffith.  K & Company has some really cute things for kids, too - like cowboys, rockets, bugs.  There's so much out there - but I would suggest you go to either AC Moore, a real scrapbook store or cruise on-line - the selection at Michael's is so-so.

Hi Monica -

What a great idea. I've done this with larger posters but the scrapbook paper is a whole lot cheaper and I like to group photos. Thanks for sharing with us.

Monica,

Thank you for the great idea.  And I love it because it is cheap.  What a great way to improve the look of a room and to impress our clients and not have to spend hardly anything.  I will be making a trip to Michael's this week and get started.  Thanks for sharing.

Monica,

I was looking at those at Michael's yesterday.  They were on sale for $5 each.  What a great idea!  Inexpensive and yet versitile.

HI Monica, I always wondered what my sister in law found so fascinating about scrapbooking.  Now she will get the last laush seeing me make these for my Staging business!  Too funny!!

Thank you for sharing. The blue bedroom is truly inspirational. I can't wait to find some paper today to start making inexpensive art. I love the graphics. I tend to use a lot of floral artwork so this will give my work the needed diversity in presentation.

You are one smart cookie!
