What Sold in Your Village in May?
By the end of May, we were 2 ½ months into the coronavirus crisis. Yes, sales are down and the bad news probably isn’t over yet. However, some of the numbers are promising and don’t paint a pessimistic picture.
One of the most interesting statistics you will see in the numbers below are the high number of under-contract homes. For instance in May, only 25 homes closed yet there are currently 54 homes under-contract or pending. That means the close numbers will be rising in the coming months.
Closed homes in May 2020 compared to May 2019 vary however. In Winnetka there were almost equal sales both months, Wilmette saw a 52% decrease in sales, Kenilworth rose from 1 sale to 4, Glencoe was exactly the same, and Northfield went down 69% (remember, it’s just one month.)
