I spend more of my money, time, and efforts on online marketing than I do on print media (newspapers, homes magazines, etc.). I have found that to be far more productive over the years.

I think that advertising that drives people to a good converting website is the way to go.
Doing special things during the process that make you customers say WOW is also a great way to create a referral moment.
