Lots of people have found that the software, Zoom, allows them to communicate to family and friends, yet still stay a safe distance away during these Covid days. Zoomers can host lots of friends or business acquaintances all at one time. It's like throwing a big party where no one has to breathe the same air!
My office has been throwing Zoom parties every week to keep their agents informed, and to keep us all from going bonkers. Seems to work pretty well except for one thing, webcams.
Most laptops these days come outfitted with a decent built in camera. These little guys do a good job of showing others on line that you are still in your PJ's or skipped the makeup routine this morning. But other home computers don't have this camera. So, those folks are required to buy a camera that hooks to the top of their monitors in order to join in on all the video fun. Tried to buy one of these gizmo's recently?
Sold out. Not just locally, but Amazon and ebay are all sold out. My guess is that China's shutdown affected the supply side and all those folks staying at home needed to buy a camera for their home computers. A perfect storm.
So for now, I guess I will have to put up with the terrible camera on my laptop. It is situated at the bottom of my screen and online people are looking up at me. Have to keep those nose hairs trimmed!
So as soon as they Zoomed, the cameras all disappeared!
