Household Disposal & Recycle Options - Aurora CO

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373 DRE# ER40011786

The City of Aurora is not holding the normal Disposal & Recycling event this year, but that doesn't mean there are no options.

Residents of Aurora CO can effectively dispose of household hazardous waste throughout the year with the following options -

BATTERIES AND CFLS:   Most major home improvement stores recycle household batteries and compact fluorescent light bulbs.

ELECTRONICS:  Many major retail stores accept items free of charge.

PAINT:  PaintCare, a statewide program, has partnered with retail stores to accept unwanted paint free of charge.  For details and a store near you - go to Paint Care.org/Colorado.

USED MOTOR OIL:  Many local auto parts stores or service stations accept used motor oil for recycling.

AUTOMOTIVE FLUIDS, LAWN & GARDEN CHEMICALS, HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS:   These items can be picked up through Veolia's Door-to-Door program for just $10 until March 1, 2021, when the fee will increase.

Be sure you make a call before taking your items to the store to ensure they will accept your items.

Hello Joan - proper care and disposal of items is a good/smart idea.  After all, we have only one planet. At least so far.

This is a good list since most people likely think that everything can just go in their trash bin.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS I have also, especially when they are moving out of state, and these items cannot be on the moving truck!

Brian, at least they SHOULD NOT go into the trash bin!
