Fishermen in the Greater Sacramento region tend to become excited this time of year. Why, you ask? Because, the Salmon are running up the American River! The skies have been a little bluer in our part of California. Air quality has improved from the past few weeks of wildfire smoke.
Along the Lower Sunrise Recreation Area footbridge, anglers are finding their way to the bridge railings to do what fishermen do, while also practicing a little male bonding. The Salmon are running in The American, and raucous chatter among the men, lined up at the span's edge, is infectious.
In the fairytale factory of my mind, I am conjuring up a little recipe for Fettuccini, Alfredo Sauce, AND Smoked Salmon. I don’t have a pole in the water, so guess I’ll need to buy my smoked salmon already cleaned and Safeway wrapped.
It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day in Sacramento!
