Tobiano is a resort development that sits above Kamloops Lake 15 minutes from Kamloops. Tobiano offers one of the most incredible golfing experiences in Canada, a marina with water sports, Black Iron Restaurant with exquisite cuisine and year round events and activities. It should definitely be a destination on your list to visit if you find yourself in the area.

The Golf Course

I don’t think there is any public golf course that can offer the incredible views, the difficulty and just a truly unforgettable golf experience like Tobiano can. The Thomas McBroom designed Tobiano Golf Course is arguably one of the best public courses in Canada…possibly North America.

It has received numerous accolades since its opening in 2008 including “Best New Golf Course” and in 2019 was voted 15th top course in Canada by Golf Digest and #7 top Public course in Canada by the PGA of Canada.

Thomas McBroom himself remarked “Tobiano has to be the best site I’ve ever seen from a drama and a beauty point of view” and playing a round of golf here is something you need to experience…it’s a bucket list kind of experience. 

A round of golf during prime time costs up to $140 on Friday and Saturday and up to $120 from Monday to Thursday. Golf green fees at Tobiano include golf, shared GPS equipped power cart, practice facility use and a bottle of water per player.  Tobiano Golf course really needs to be experienced in person but they also offer a vitrual tour should you wish to take a peek at the incredible course. The Marina

If golfing isn’t your cup of tea, the marina on Kamloops Lake offers endless opportunities for some summertime fun. Bruker Marina officially opened in 2013 and has 110 boat slips, beach area, public boat launch, convenience store, play area and various motor-sport rentals available. The beach, boat launch and play area are open to the public. 

Bruker Marina is a great opportunity to go boating and have fun doing some water skiing, surfing and tubing. Kamloops Lake is known to be a quieter lake so you will have no troubles with other boat traffic or wakes at any time of the day. If you are a morning person, Bruker Marina offers Early Morning specials from 8am to 10am. It is the perfect opportunity to rent a paddle board and have the lake almost entirely to yourself for a paddle to remember. The Trails

Tobiano has access to 17,000 acres of backcountry, fishing lakes, mountain bike, hiking, running, horseback riding, snowshoeing and dirt bike trails. The Tobiano hoodoos are an easy hike out to see and they are beautiful from any direction. There are endless opportunities for activities at Tobiano and you could spend years exploring and still not find all the trails
