Tahoma Schools Are Out For Summer!

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with NextHome Experience 17050

The term "Summer Vacation" has taken on a new meaning in our home. It's no longer the time when the kids are out of school for two and a half months. My youngest son graduated from Tahoma Senior High  last week so I am unofficially done with school & my kids. I say unofficially because there's still college to deal with, but that's a level which doesn't involve school lunches and progess reports.

Yesterday was the last day of school for the rest of the district and today Maple Valley seems to be moving in slow-motion as new routines are formed.

We're fortunate to have many Summer resources for local kids, whether it's swimming at Lake Wilderness to cool down, swim lessons at the Covington Pool or an assortment of warm weather activities and trips for kids of all ages organized by the Maple Valley Community Center.

If you're moving to Maple Valley or new to the area, here's a link to the registration form for new students.

I hope you have a fun & safe Summer and remember to take time to enjoy it.... September 2 will be here soon enough and the kids grow up too fast. Believe me, I know!

LOL, Elizabeth, that's exactly why Summer Vacation used to only mean "the kids are off school". Summer months in real estate, gotta make hay while the sun shines :-)

Colleen, congrats to your son on his achievement!  I'm sure it will be a little odd in the fall to buy not just notebooks and pencils, but dorm furniture as well.

Congrats on your Grad!  It is a bitter-sweet time for me.  I love spending time with the kids but I have to 'make' time to do it.

Summer is a magical time for children, and a manic time for real estate moms.  One day a week off to do something special with the kids was my rule, and I had fun too!

Colleen - I remember my summers growing up in WA...  The things I miss most are twilight and the cool (no humidity) nights... See, now you have me homesick again. Even though I've lived in Florida my entire adult life, as soon as I get off the plane at Sea-Tac... it feels like home.
