Corona Virus Update For Charlotte:

Charlotte Begins Phase 3 Of Reopening Today At 5:00 PM

Phase 3 of Charlotte's reopening permits movie theaters, bars and outdoor venues to open at reduced capacities. This means:

  • Bars can operate at 30% capacity or 100 people maximum, but outdoors only. Bars still may not serve drinks inside.

  • Movie theaters and conference centers can operate at 30% capacity or 100 people maximum.

  • Large outdoor venues such as Bank of America Stadium can operate at 7% capacity.

  • Smaller outdoor venues with fewer than 10,000 seats can operate at 30% capacity or 100 people maximum.

  • Amusement parks can operate at 30% capacity. Indoor rides at amusement parks may not operate.

Restrictions From Phase 2.5 Which Remain Unchanged In Phase 3:

Mass gatherings allow up to 25 people indoors and 50 people outdoors.

  • The following facilities can operate at 30% capacity indoors: gyms, yoga studios, ballrooms, martial arts facilities, gymnastics facilities, indoor trampoline parks, rock climbing facilities, boxing clubs, skating rinks, bowling alleys, go-cart tracks, laser tag, and paint ball facilities.

  • Wedding reception venues have a 100 person limit or 30% of capacity per fire codes, which ever is less. Guests must be seated. The actual wedding ceremony is not limited.

  • Playgrounds are open.

  • Museums and aquariums can operate at 50% capacity.

  • Restaurants, salons, and retailers can operate at 50% capacity.

The face covering mandate and the 11:00 PM "curfew" on alcohol sales remain in place during Phase 3, which will continue until October 23rd, along with recommendations to socially distance.

Restrictions on nursing homes and congregate care facilities remain in place.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will gradually transition to in-person learning beginning October 12th:

Nina,

And a sigh of relief must have been heard by many!  Progress at your end of the world.  I know that our clients are enjoying their summer in the mountains of North Carolina.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... on some level a sigh of relief. On another level... when Governor was asked how they came up with capacity limits the answer was "it sounded good." This after months of telling us they were following the science!

Hi Nina Hollander I am praying that Charlotte will have a safe phase 3 re-opening, since most of those areas were considered higher risk previously. My bigest concern has been been for the young children. Praying for their safety as schools begin to start in-person learning again. Have a Blessed Weekend!

Nina Hollander - May the air be clean, the water safe, the environment good and healthy enough for everyone in Charlotte and may your economy grow successfully.

Jerry Newman hi Jerry.... for now we are off the high risk category and hopefully will stay that way. I suppose the good news is that in most of the places where kids have returned to school they are not reporting outbreaks of the virus. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, as well.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP hi Patricia... thank you for those wishes. Our economy is doing okay but clearly there are people here whose businesses are really suffering.

Nina Hollander - One for all! All for one! The self-employed have been heavily impacted. I guess we are the forgotten ones...

We shall prevail!!!

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP no doubt... fortunately, at the moment, I can't complain. My business has been moving along well. And lots of non-self employed have been impacted here... American Airlines laid-off or furloughed almost 1,000 people here in Charlotte hub today. Wells Fargo and Bank of America have also been shedding people.

Hi Nina- this is such good information to provide for the people in your area. I almost forgot what stage or reopening we're in here. I think our restaurants are at 75% capacity but I don't know if they're at 75%. Larry and I go early to avoid any crowds.

Rocky Dickerson hi Rocky... our numbers have been trending in the right direction, but we all know that this could be temporary. Hard to know what to think these days.

George Souto good morning, George... we've waited a long time for phase 3, but I suspect it still came too late for many businesses in our area.

Kathy Streib good morning, Kathy... we are no where near 75% capacity for anything. As for restaurants, even with a lower capacity I've chosen not to eat out for now... been hearing too many stories from people who said restaurants are not taking the precautions that they should.

Nina- Larry and I waited several weeks before we ventured out and called ahead to see exactly what precautions they were taking. Now that the weather is nicer, we have eaten outside twice. (we eat when all the other "old" people do to avoid any crowds.

Nina,  This is great news.  While I venture out more these days it has to do with business not eating out or going to theaters which I rarely did before COVID. What I am enjoying now is getting my hair cut indoors, a pedicure, and finishing dental work that started on March 14th and was put on hold due to restrictions.

Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist hi Kathleen... like you, I go out for business reasons, for a haircut, a mani-pedi. Beyond that... a bit of shopping outside of groceries... but otherwise staying close to home.
