"It's all about the people.
It's about networking and being nice
to people and not burning any bridges. Your
book is going to impress, but in the end, it is
the people that are going to hire you."
---Mike Davidson
The 2020 Corona Virus Alert to America started in March. Inspirationally, I have been challenged to rise above the pandemic. My Sellers and I have been friends for more than 20 years. Maintaining a friendship for any length of time involves commitment and the confidence to know, this friendship could last. Between March and August we were challenged by obstacles, such as to list or not to list, keep tenant in or out. And then there were the orders: Masks. Social Distancing. Santize, etc. To do or not to do and to follow the orders. What worked? We communicated, listened, prepared, analyzed, compared, and focused on when would be the best time to list their property for sale, after the tenants moved out. What didn't work was getting the property listed sooner because of the pandemic. The house finally went on the market on August 4. It didn't take long to get under contract but it required a lot of sacrifices to keep that house sanitized and maintained before, during, and after it went under contract.
Friendship is the bridge people walk together because they trust one another, feel comfortable with each other, understand one another, and they are supportive of each others needs --- Patricia Feager

A true friend is always supportive and will have the other ones back. A vested friendship doesn't always mean that when it comes to business, the REALTOR automatically gets the listing. Like any business, trust isn't about yearning, it has to be earned ---Patricia Feager

Business can be stressful, especially when other people enter into the picture. Potential buyers and Agent feedback can cause tension based on different people's opinions. When it comes to equality, perception is a matter of choice, price, location, and what value is determined by buyers in the market to buy. There are life-altering consequences when it's too stressful ---Patricia Feager

Waiting! Assistance! Patience! Sharing & Caring! The interactions with another real estate Agent representing their clients, in Texas the Staff at the Title Company, the Lender's Processor, Closer, and Underwriters, the compliance and regulations when there's a government loan, such as VA or FHA, the opinions of the Home Inspector, and the Value determined by the Appraiser inceases all of the emotions in a human being. Navigation through the transition weighs heavily on trust ---Patricia Feager

The depth dimension of friendship developed over time and how we relate to others determines whether or not friendship survives. Commitment, education, and trustworthiness determines whether the seller sells or the buyer stays, knowing that if they don't pay, they can't stay. The expectation of putting a home on the market and discovering a Pandemic could lock down the economy and stop people from buying and selling real estate is largely dependent on the people involved, what their motivation is, and how they stay connected. The probability for success is higher when everyone does what they have to do ethically, and when people work through any problems that comes along. To navigate successfully, all hands must be on deck ---Patricia Feager
Finally, my Seller's property sold on 9/29/2020. Spring and Summer is gone. Fall is here. A Seller sold. A Buyer bought. I spent the day at the Japanese Gardens in Fort Worth two days after the closing taking my time to breathe properly. If I don't, I can't help other people. I know all parts of the body can be impacted. It isn't just the buyer or the seller, or the other people involved in the sale who goes through emotional highs and lows. A REALTOR®, like myself does too. Selling real estate isn't just about the money. It's about finding the balance to avoid high blood pressure, sleep disorders, and a host of chronic illnesses or potentially fatal diseases, such as COVID-19. The context for this post is original because that's the only way I know how to write and express my personal beliefs. My photos of the bridges were an inspiration taken yesterday at the Japanese Gardens as a reminder to keep breathing even when things get tough. Business is About Building Bridges; Life is About Breathing---Patricia Feager
