Top Home Features People Want since the Pandemic

By
Real Estate Agent

Came across an interesting survey about home satisfaction during the pandemic. It seems that 44% of homeowners are dissatisfied with their house situation & 34% are more satisfied with it.

The most features that homeowners desire in their next home would be:

1)  Home gym

2)  Home office

3)  Gaming space

4)  Kitchen space

Actually I'm a little surprised about the Kitchen space coming in 4th position. Usually it's right up there with Family Room & the Kitchen being 1 & 2.

The survey also offered up where people like to 'hide' during the pandemic.

It's an interesting read from Sears Home Services.

That is a neat survey and I am sure it is part of what has led to more people wanting to change their current living situation.

After almost 7 months straight of working my engineering job from home, wishing I had a dedicated home office that I can close the door on during teleconference calls.  It's amazing how Chihuahuas know EXACTLY when to bark :)

Yes, people are trying to figure out how to use their house differently. Especially with home schooling.

Hi Lyn- very interesting stats!  And yes, I'm surprised that the kitchen came in fourth and that a home gym was number 1!

So, that means that 44% of people need a new residence - that's where we come in! Needs change and especially after the quarantine and home schooling children.

Interesting read, Lyn. I was a bit surprised that the kitchen didn't rank higher but there is definitely an interest in having room for exercising and a home office from the buyers I have talked with. I just sold a home in Carlsbad where separate exercise space and 2 home offices were on the list...and we made it happen!
