Oh Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist you words have said it so well for most of us. We've all needed an eenormous amount of patience to continually, time after time after time, adjust to yet one more thing, and then another and another.....  We too had the intolerable heat and smoke for weeks and yet somehow we made it through that. I too have had 'moments' of what else can happen and then it does. Patience, faith and trust plus a LOT of kindness to others and from others. I believe there will be so many gifts that have come out of this past crazy 7 months.  Thank you for you heart felt entry in the October Challenge.

I had a conversation with my sister earlier today.  She is struggling to keep patience with all of the restrictions in place.  Yet, she understands like me.  It's for the greater good! 

2020 has been a really challenging year.  Each day seems to bring another outrageous chapter to the collection of days on the calendar!

Kathleen patience is becoming a shorter and shorter drive for me these days, so thinking before I speak has become more of a need then ever before.

Kathleen, NorCal has taken a shocking hit.  Your post shows how all things even the greatest challenges can make us bitter or better.  It the Rain it's very inspiring hearing your story and many others rising above the circumstances.

What a wonderful heartfelt entry into the October challenge. 2020 has been a challenging year and its not over yet. Patience and staying positive is the only way to keep meeting head on the adversities that keep come rolling in!

Hi Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist, my heart goes out to those who live near the fires and affected by the poor air quality on top of everything else we had to face this year. You said something we should all embrace "we unite in kindness". Regardless of our opinion, as a nation, we must unite. 

Dear Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist - Your Title wasn't just an eye-opener, it was an eye, nose, and mouth choker! No joke! The challenges, the courage, the circumstances that are causing deep sorrow goes behind what many people can endure. The people from CA have been tested, trespassed by raging fires and taunted by political rhetoric. Meanwhile the widespread pandemic illustrates what hell is like on earth.  

Your heartfelt personal story goes straight to the heart and yet you still uncover your heart, your tender heart and all the compassion you have for caring about people. Your clients can be proud of you and know that you would never let them down. You are a woman, a crusader of mercy who fights back with faith, determination and survival skills that you've learned over the years of many challenges.

Great post, great attitude.  We are living through a Darwin moment in modern history and it's testing us to adapt and change in order to survive.  We are also being forced to accept that some things will not return to "normal" any time soon.  Our mindset will determine the outcome more than the sum of the external forces.  Keep the faith, keep moving forward, keep making adjustments and keep setting the example for others to follow.  "We are made to persist.  That is how we find out who we are." ~Tobias Wolff

The smoke from the fires made it all the way to NH. It made for some bright sunsets and drowned out the sun during the day. Those with breathing difficulties suffered here as well. A cold front came down and cleared the air. As for COvid, I have many thoughts, most which i keep to myself and get out there and work as our market is just crazy busy. I need to sit down and write my post for this challenge as well. Putting into words are not always so easy

Congratulations on a well-deserved feature for this month's challenge. And I love it when you say... I choose to focus or shine my light.

I'm not an incredibly religious man however the tales of the Bible can be helpful in trying times. The story of Job is what comes to mind when thinking of these times. God stripped a prosperous man of everything he had in order to test his faith and when nothing shook that faith and Job was at rock bottom, God returned to him his wealth and much much more. If nothing else, the story speaks on resolve and unshakeable faith in a higher purpose. Perhaps there is something we can learn from this tale. Perhaps  2020 is our test.

I love that you shine your light and unite in kindness, Kathleen! I totally agree with moving on past the negativity. I think that is what has led to a lot of the depression that many are experiencing - they're lingering too long in the negativity.

I know it's corny but, my motto remains, mind-over-matter! I do my best to push past the negativity so it doesn't stick with me!

I too feel sad for those people who have lost their homes to the fires--the small businesses, the service workers, the pollution--changes must be made in the environment and new building. 

I count my blessings here in Central Ohio when I hear of the fires and other devastating issues around the country on top of Covid. Patience is key.
