Practice the 3 A's If You Want to Prosper
Those are 3 good A's Anticipate, Adapt and Adjust. We must master all of those.
Since July 1, 2020 we experienced many challenges, changes in direction and controversy on how to implement changes.
Real Estate is considered an essential business in Austin with so many people relocating here. We are over whelmed with the influx; there is just not enough inventory of resale or new home construction.
Many new agents are rushing to obtain their real estate license hoping to cash in on the boom. Unfortunately they are not prepared for the expenses involved or the competition they are facing. For some the only thing they can think of is to cut their commission to get something going. It’s hard to compete when you don’t have a proven marketing strategy that works or brand awareness.
Consumers, now more than ever, want someone they can trust and have a proven track record to guide them through these uncertain times. Sometimes they just need for us to listen. Sometimes they just want positivity in helping them make crucial decisions.
Zig Zigglar said it best: "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
Yes, Zillow, Redfin and others are working hard to take over the industry. There will always be disruptors and I’m not standing in fear. I’ve been reevaluating my business model just like any other business. I know the value I bring to a real estate transaction. I may lose some transactions to the disruptors but the clients I serve know my worth and never bring up the cost of my full services. I truly love what I do and feel blessed to have a loyal following.
In 2014 I posted “What it takes to be a successful agent these days? The 3 A’s” This post is as timely now as it was back then. If you are not anticipating, adapting and adjusting the way you conduct business you will be a casualty.
Agent relationships are more important now than ever. Being kind and gracious is the key to networking. I’m fiercely determined to work for my client’s best interests but having a strong network of agents who respect my reputation for treating agents fairly and honestly goes a long way in putting deals together. It takes a village.
The real estate market is ever changing just like other businesses especially now but the one thing that remains constant is Dorie Dillard will make things happen and get your home SOLD or find you the right house to purchase!
