If you clicked on this weeks blog looking for a sneak peak on the next toy offering from McDonald's you may be disappointed. The motivational factor behind this post was thrusted upon me while doing a little pre winter cleaning in my daughter's room.
As we were going through her play area and toy bin getting rid of old dolls and toys I pulled out 9 of those little toys that come in happy meals. Some were still in the plastic and had never been opened. As I was looking at them I started wondering how did the golden arches go about selecting the toys? How do they know which item will have kids begging their parents to go spend money on them?
I knew some where tied to cartoon movies that may have been out at the time but what about the others. I have to tip my hat to the marketing team because millions of happy meals are sold each year due to outstanding marketing of a single toy.

Availability: When providing services for clients its key that you make yourself available to be reached to answer questions. Don't be the investor or agent whose voice mail works as the front desk greeter.
Freebies: It can't always be TAKE TAKE TAKE. It has to be some GIVE sprinkled in your marketing strategy. Coming up with some creative ways to draw in new clients is fun and also necessary. People love to feel like they are being rewarded for doing business with you.
Lasting Impressions: You Never Get A Second Chance To Make A First Impression. Your initial meeting with a client will either do 1 or 2 Things. It will either make them want to do business with you or they will ask that you never contact them again. Be thoughtful in the way you interact with people. Bad reputation spreads wayyyyy faster than good reputation. You want to make sure your name and brand shines bright in people's mind not the opposite.
The marketing strategy that you use to find clients in one zip code may not be the same you can use in another. Knowing your market will allow you to have a feel on how you should approach each zip code or area you are targeting. You have to pick out the things that will appeal to different demographics.
