Well I had to be out and about early this Saturday morning, since one of my long term client's referred me to a business partner for a potential listing.... a future post to be written... As I get in my car I see that the Air Pressure Warning gage is on... on my way to the appointment I stopped at three different gas stations. Two did not have Air Hoses. One was Jammed with Quarters so you could not use it. The fourth gas station I stopped at was the best value one one dollar and the quarters worked... Not enough air but at least I could make it to the Listing Presentation. As I was driving I noticed a Firestone 2.7 miles from my appointment. Great News will have to stop on the way back....
After an hour and a half meeting not just looking at one home but an additional two... (future post)... I was heading back to the Firestone Tire place. Since I bought two tires about two years ago near my home from them I was glad to see that I was still in the system. Even though the place I used to frequent near our home thanks to the Pandemic closed.
Two hour wait later since I did not have an appointment the Manager wanted to know if I want to just put air or buy a new tire. He informed me that there was a patch that was leaking... I wanted to know which tire. I suspected it was the front passenger and it was confirmed that was the one. Needless to say two years ago the other Firestone thought I would only have about 2500 miles left on the front two. Turns out 9,000 miles later here we are.
The manager broke the news to me how much two tires were, as I asked that it was a bit pricier than two years ago. He confirmed that was true and added that keep in mind $100 of the price is taxes. Thank you California Governor and Politicians. Once I approved the purchase he informed me that unfortunately he does not have the tires and will have to get it from another store, do I want to wait two hours or come back Monday.... well what else would I do on a Saturday late morning early afternoon? Might as well get it done with instead of putting on a spare and cut into my Monday busy day. Since I was so gracious he broke the news to me that the two tires on that they put on two years ago at the other Firestone Store were the wrong ones.
Now I was starting to get ruffled and mentioned that it was their store and their brand, he said he understands but wanted to let me know they stand behind their name and their warranty. So with that said he would be giving me the other two tires at no cost!
I could not believe what I was hearing, during the Pandemic a business standing behind their product!! I am still awed and appreciative of an honest businessman. So four hours plus later and four new Tires later this Beverly Hills Realtor can not say enough good things about the Firestone Manager on La Cienega Blvd in Los Angeles CA. Yes I will write a nice yelp and other reviews to this great Manager, thank you Alex!!
So the take away for me was, have quarters in your car, which gratefully I did and the biggest take away is provide exeptional business and own up to the failures of the business. I have always liked Firestone but thanks to this manager I now love them now Most importantly be ethical in your business dealings and the word will spread like you can not immagine. If you ever need help go to see Alex at Firestone on La Cienega Blvd near the Beverly Center.
Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments.
