October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Think "Pink"!

The more we know, the more we can be prepared to eradicate these deadly cancers. Knowing it exists is not enough. We need to be informed. Education on how to detect this disease early is important for our survival.  See #3 below.

  3. Women who get regularly screened for breast cancer have a 47% lower risk of dying from the disease compared to those who don’t.[3]

  4. Breast cancer deaths have been declining since 1990 thanks to early detection, better screening, increased awareness, and new treatment options.[4]

Good morning, Sheri... of course, I "think pink" most days as it's my favorite color. Seriously, thinking pink in October is so important. Who of us doesn't know someone who has battled this disease or died of it?

Hi Sheri:

Thanks for spreading the word. Those statistics are important reading. We all know people or have family members who have battled this disease, survived it, and sadly have died from it.

Such a great reminder, Sheri. I just had a ZOOM call with a friend last night who is recovering from double mastectomies on Monday. I have to send her Melissa Etheridge's comment - I am confident she will agree 100% with her sentiment!
