I Support and Endorse President Trump for Re-election

Wide American Flag

I doubt that any of my regular readers will be surprised by the title of this post.  What may surprise you is that I do not intend to participate in the game of name-calling or character smearing that my contemporaries might rely on to describe the Democrat candidates.  I will confine this post to positive, policy-driven points which I believe will support President Trump and Vice-President Pence for re-election.  [what a concept!]

When Donald Trump ran for the office of President in 2016, he well known as an individual but not as a politician.  He had little track record to qualify for the highest political office in the USA.  Now he has a record of accomplishment under difficult circumstances and a remarkable record of promises made and promises kept which would justify his re-election.

Justice and the ConstitutionMy first priority for the election of a President is judicial appointments and defense of our Constitution.  The Constitution is our protection from abuse of power and is the most effective system of checks and balances to limit the authority of government and guide the behavior of our elected officials.  President Trump has nominated, and the Senate has confirmed, over 200 judges in his first term of office - all of whom will serve lifetime appointments and will change the judicial system in our country for most of the next two decades  (to include more than 50 appellate judges and soon to include three Associate Justices of the Supreme Court (Judge Barrett is in the confirmation process and should be confirmed as an Associate Justice by the Senate prior to the 2020 election)).  The left has proposed elimination of the Electoral College (our system for election of the President) and packing the Supreme Court (increasing the number of Justices to 15 after more than a century at 9 Justices).

Republican ElephantIn addition, President Trump has dramatically reduced the inefficient structure of rules and regulations that businesses must navigate every day.  He has provided tax cuts and encouraged companies to hire new workers and achieved top employment numbers for all racial groups until the Covid 19 pandemic struck in early 2020.  Although total economic recovery from Covid 19 is not complete,  the President has led a coalition of government and private businesses to meet the challenge.  Much of the President's agenda on immigration languishes in the House but he has been creative in achieving funding for his Southern border wall, already diminishing illegal immigration.

President Trump has created an America First policy which has led to new trade agreements with our closest trading partners and forcing NATO members to come closer to meeting their defense obligations. He has moved our embassy to Jerusalem, supported Israel and concluded agreements with a number of Moslem nations to recognize Israel - promoting peace and trade in the Middle East.

Domestically, the President has altered policies that restricted domestic energy production and sale overseas.  He has supported major pipeline projects and hydraulic fracturing technologies (fracking) which have made America into an energy-exporting nation instead of an importer of energy.  The President has promoted a culture of law and order which will enforce the law and require the leftist mayors and governors to protect their own citizens in the face of civil disorder and rioting in partnership with the Federal Government.  In partnership with Congress, the President plans to improve healthcare with expanded plan choices and increased competition to bring down costs for consumers.  He has already overhauled the health care for veterans.  Again - promises made; promises kept. applause

In summary, this election is critical to our future and the policy differences between the left and the right are very easy to understand and choose.  Whichever side you are on, I hope you will vote in this election. But as for me, my choice is Donald Trump and if you like any of the policies I have described, I hope you will consider voting for President Trump and Vice-President Pence.

Thank you for your consideration.

Morning Ted.

I doubt you will get a lot of comments on this one.  With all the vitriol going on, one does not tell anyone who they will vote for, except you....

Well, it might have been more fun to take the low road and discuss the negative side of the left and Mr. Biden and Mrs. Harris... but it is not my style.

Ted  , there is no way I can vote for Joe Biden and I’ll also take the high road

1. Number #1 - I don’t believe in Millionaire CAREER Politicians . Our Country

needs Term Limits to always have a flow of new talent.

2. Number #2-  we need a Mandatory Retirement Age of 72 . Sorry but no one who is age 78 should be running for Political Office ( Red or Blue)

Michael: Thanks for your comments.  My standard response to suggestions of term limits is that we already have them - they are called elections.  The House comes every two years, the President every four years and the Senate every six years.  But I certainly agree that ethical changes need to occur to prevent politicians from accumulating wealth by insider trading, conflicts of interest or other nefarious dealings while in office

My kneejerk reaction to your second point may be colored by the fact that I am 74 years of age now and not ready to be put out to pasture just yet.  But you may be pleased to know that I have no plans to run for office.  Certainly, age as a mandatory retirement criteria may seem arbitrary. For example, Mr. Trump seems quite fit at 74; while Mr. Biden should be looking for a soft place to lie down.

Thanks for stopping by.
