It's Not Always as It Seems!

Here's an example of why parents should always check their children's homework before they hand it in:

A first grader handed in the drawing below for a homework assignment.

After it was graded and the child brought it home, she returned to school the next day with the following note:

Dear Ms. Davis,

I want to be very clear on my child's illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint. I work as a real estate agent, at a local company.  While driving my daughter to school the other morning, I needed to stop at one of my listings to reinstall a sign, which had blown down during the storm.  We also talked about her joining me in my business one day, and that perhaps she could make a living at it.  This photo is of me reinstalling the sign, as you can see from the picture below taken from another view.

Myrl, Great, classic real estate humor.  The mother was forward thinking in her note to teacher.  I guess it depends where one's mind is.  A strip pole did not cross my mind. LOL

It takes skill, energy and a few other attributes to be a spectacular pole dancer. I'm certain that some agents were spectacular pole dancers prior to changing their professions as their skill, energy and attributes also changed. Very cute post and memorable.

For me, it took an explanation. I would have never thought pole dancer. I thought she was standing at a door. Guess it depends where you are coming from!

Myrl,

So glad that Carol Williams included this post, which I missed.  One of the agents I met was a night club singer, in full regalia with face paint and scanty clothes.  She actually asked me, if she should include a photo of her on stage...YIKES!  A

Hi Myrl:

I came back for another read - wasn't sure if I had seen it or not - and enjoyed it once again!

Myrl Jeffcoat - hardy hardy hardy ho! I didn't even think of a pole dancer in that drawing. Kids have an interesting way of illustrating what they see and how they express themselves or their surroundings in their drawings. It is pretty funny because after all, it comes from the perspective of an innocent child. Interpretation by adults is always subjective and often wrong.

This was really funny! I enjoyed it.

That's funny Myrl.  Interesting how some people in the comment section did not think of pole dancing at first, and I'm guessing others did, like me!!  That's why I liked that game Pictionary, stick figures can get the point across quickly, or not!!
