Sharpening My Pencil
I recently read an article which mentioned, in part, Tori Amos. I recognized her name. Her talents as a performer and as a songwriter too. But not much else beyond that seemed to resonate with me. Of course, my musical knowledge of any genre is, to say the least, quite limited.
As I am prone to do, I placed her name and a thought from that story that became the title of this post as a text message to myself. I thought it could serve to remind me and prompt pondering. Perhaps.
Fast forward to a few days later and I did an online search about her to see if anything "grabbed me". Various songs and quotes came forth and provided definite pause but I was looking for something else.
Then I came upon the name of a tour of hers which was also the title of one of her albums. Strange Little Tour. There it was! My Eureka! moment. Well, more or less.
Rabbit-hole wandering and pondering of all sorts can lead us in many directions as it did today. Far away from pencil-sharpetning which had been mentioned in that original article I read, this post came to be. Sometimes that happens. Not so strange. At least not to me.
