April 2008 vs. April 2007 YTD - Single Family Homes
New inventory (the number of homes going on the market) decreased 3% (98 YTD 2008 vs. 101 YTD 2007). There was a 22% decrease in the number of sales (28 YTD 2008 vs. 36 YTD 2007).  The average sales price decreased approximately 23% to $678,090. Overall, the average sales price for single family homes in Rockland County (inclusive of the river villages) was $520,992, down approximately 6% over the same period last year.

 

April 2008 YTD vs. April 2007 YTD - Condos (including townhomes and co-ops)
New inventory (the number of condos going on the market) increased 2% (51 YTD 2008 vs. 50 YTD 2007). There was a 47% decrease in the number of sales (9 YTD 2008 vs. 17 YTD 2007). The average sales price decreased 13% to $414,389. Overall, the average sales price for condos in Rockland County (inclusive of the river villages) was $288,636, down approximately 4% over the same period last year.
