A Few Simple Thoughts For The Moment....

Services for Real Estate Pros with RE/MAX Executive Realty - Retired 104763

I’m guilty as charged!!  I haven’t written anything that resembles a blog post for over a week. The time has come!! Retirement has been an adjustment from my previously typical day of marketing from morning through most of the day. I can honestly say, I don’t miss it.

I’ll always be grateful for having over 40 years of participating in the real estate business.  I’ve bought and sold my fair share of homes; managed real estate offices; and secured plenty of commissions. The best part of my deal is I continue to receive referral fees of 20% from my past clients who call Tammy but mention my name as being their previous agent.  This was Tammy’s idea not mine, but I’ll take it!

My real estate license expires in Sept of 2022, and I’ll not be renewing it again. That’s actually a relief, after 42 years (44 years at that future date.) I still have my good old stories that I share with Tammy, when she has an issue with a deal. My opening statements always start with “Well, I had a deal once where a similar situation fell into my lap, I’d blah, blah, blah…..” telling her how to resolve it.

The one thing I learned long ago was for every rule, there’s always a legitimate way to skirt it. I always knew all the angles and shared them freely. If you worked with me, you learned how to solve problems, one way or another.

Marketing was always the #1 task, and the phone rang from the late 1970’s to present day. Even though I’m fully retired, I continue to remind Tammy to do a mass mailing every month and to keep me on their mailing list!!!  I’ll start posting their mailers.

Those are my thoughts for the moment….. hope I have more tomorrow!

Hi Barbara Todaro - It is so wonderful to have options and we are lucky to be able to do this for as long as we like. Every 5-years I evaluate and reassess.   I have 2 more years until I re-evaluate my situation.

Tammy is so lucky to have you to tap into your knowledge, wisdom, and expertise.  Also, it is nice to talk with someone who knows the business and you can trust.

Hello Barbara - life changes yet things still happen and so stories are told and then retold, shared again or for the first time.  Real estate experience like life involves learning, experience and teaching.  You have much to share and you share it willingly and do it so well.

Barbara you may be retired from Real Estate, but I doubt you will truly retire.  There are several other areas you can utilize you many talents in to help others.

it's like being a lawyer - there are lawyers who say no - and they have clients.  But the lawyers who are successful are the ones who tell you how to accomplish what you are trying to do - and whne one road is blocked, the good lawyers tell you how to get to where you need to go by avoiding the road block (legally)

Barbara Todaro - Having the grace to step away and retire when you know it's the right thing to do takes courage. Perhaps, if you and Tammy are up to it, you can do a mother/daughter dynamic duo YouTube video on occasion so that we get to know Tammy better and still have you in our lives whenever we need a real estate fix to solve problems or just hear from you. You are our angel in the RAIN.

Oh what I would give to have had a mother who was in the business - who shared stories and wisdom freely, Barbara! Tammy is one lucky girl! I look forward to seeing the new marketing; she certainly had the best marketing teacher in the world.
