Charlotte Ranked #6 Nationally As A "Best Place To Live" American City

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty

The results are in... and Charlotte, North Carolina has been ranked a Top 10 American Best Place To Live City by U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Place To Live survey! U.S. News & World report ranks 150 most populous metro areas for quality of life, job market, desirability, and overall value. For the 2020-2021 survey, Charlotte jumped to #6 in the rankings, moving 14 spots ahead of last year!  And in case you were wondering about North Carolina, it was ranked #11 as a best place to live.

U.S. News & World Report also ranked The Queen City as:

  • #1 Best Place to Live In North Carolina
  • #21 of Fastest Growing Places
  • #23 in Best Places To Retire

And don't forget that the annual Quality of Life Index 2020 by Numbeo had, earlier this year, ranked Charlotte #8 out of 200 cities surveyed worldwide and #4 in the USA for its high quality of life. Meantime, The Urban Land Institute  ranked Charlotte, North Carolina #4 in their top U.S. real estate markets for 2020.

How U.S. News & World Report Described Charlotte, North Carolina

"Charlotte is a region that's equal parts old-fashioned southern charm and high-energy cosmopolitan bustle. You'll still hear "y'all" dropped into casual conversation, but Charlotte is a metro area on the rise, and has its own culture, culinary sophistication and unique feel that's making it a more enticing place for people from all over the world to settle down. This melting pot effect makes Charlotte an easy area to break into. You're not from here? Well neither are most people you'll meet."

Michael Jacobs hi Michael... as a transplant to Charlotte, myself, I believe that I can represent the city better than many of those who've lived here all their lives and haven't had to "discover" the city the same way we transplants have had to do.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila... Charlotte is a city that really does have all the advantages of big city life without as many of the disadvantages we see in big city life.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... I first travelled to Charlotte on business in 1973... it's a very different city today than it was back then. Then again, it's also very different from what it was when we moved here in 1998.

I'm surprised at how many people confuse Charlotte, North Carolina and Charlotte, South Carolina in my neck of the woods. I guess it's the same way as people confusing Washington State and Washington DC, you can't just say Washington anymore.

Happy Tuesday Nina Hollander

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS hi Paul... absolutely. When we first were telling people we were moving to Charlotte, many would nod and say "oh yes, Charleston; it's a nice city!" Then they'd all be amazed when we told them Charlotte was the second largest financial capital in the USA after NYC.
