Don't Laugh - Staging On A MAJOR (I mean, really MINOR) Budget

Laugh all the way to the bank, girl!  The house sold and that was the objective.  Good job!

Tori Lynn, We all have those jobs, you're lucky they agreed to rent furniture. You did a great job if the house sold. Pat yourself on the back, well done!

Tori Lynn, I think as stagers we need to be able to let ANYONE be able to afford some level of staging. It takes a really creative person to be able to stage on a budget. I say GREAT JOB and GOOD FOR YOU!

Tori - no laughing here - you did a great job.  Our job is to make what we have to work with as good as it possibly can and that varies based on budget, furniture etc...  You achieved that goal and achieved it with results and you can't ask more then that.

Tori Lynn, it just goes to show that staging doesn't always have to cost a lot of money.  Being able to work with existing pieces (and adding a bit of furniture for the living room) takes some real vision.  I'm not laughing either - you did a fantastic job.  I bet that agent won't be afraid to refer you to other clients now that he/she sees what you pulled off on a very limited budget - you go girl!

Oh my, I got a lead last night that sounds just like yours! A vacant home, dated and been on the market a year. It is a friend of a friend with no money to spend on staging, but desperately needing it. I'm glad to see that even staging on a practically non existant budget can bring results. Haven't seen the house yet, but I'll let you know what happens.

 I staged my fiances house in February and had to use patio chairs in the living room- but they actually looked great with some throw pillows. He thought I had gone out and bought new chairs! It's amazing what you can do with nothing!  The house sold in three weeks!

This is when a true stager's creativity shines!! Great job on a low budget.

Tori Lynn, Not all stagings are glamorous, but we do the best we can with what we have to work with. (I know I have been there). What really matters is, you made a difference and the house sold. Good for you.

You know, staging on a budget is how we all started.  There are many stagers that enjoy this challenge more as it shows what they really can do.  Good job.

Congratulations! Not every job is a vacant where we have complete control--we aren't on The Stagers with a huge warehouse and big budgets! I'm happy to see a "real" staging example--thank you! I plan to post more lived-in staging examples. They are still dramatic, if not as perfect as vacants. Thanks for showing us again how staging works!

I've had my share of "after" photos that I felt were more like "before" shots.  You did a great job, you accomplished the goal of staging...you got it sold.
