Throwback Thursday: I've Got My Eyes on You!

The California Desert cities, such as Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta and Rancho Mirage are about 2 hours from our house in Carlsbad. We've enjoyed many visits - there's lots to do with some great dining.

 

On one particular weekend trip back in July 2017 we went from 75 degrees at the coast to 107 in the desert in just 2 hours. We had dinner our first night on El Paseo (often called the Rodeo Drive of the desert) in Palm Desert, then went for a walk to enjoy the sunset and the storefronts.

 

The Louis Vuitton Store had an amazing window display...those eyes actually moved...which, well, caught our eye. Too bad it was too late to shop at this luxury brand, but much better for the wallet.

 

Pretty eye-catching, no?!

Hello Jeff - eye-catching indeed.  And the Palm Springs area is a nice getaway which is relatively close to each of our areas.

We were supposed to visit this spring with our daughter and family for 4 days, but for obvious reasons did not. We have always enjoyed our trips, even when it's pretty hot (but summer is not my favorite time of year to visit).

Such a cool photo and window display, Jeff. It's one I would have almost expected Ron and Alexandra Seigel to have written a post about! This is one I wouldn't have minded seeing up close and personal.

It was amazing ba`B Ratliff . We stopped in the mountains at a view point looking down to the desert and it felt like an oven! But I've been there when it was 114, too!

Love the title, Jeff - so clever...and that window is one that I have seen in Palm Desert!

The area is one I would go back to in a heartbeat. I attended a conference there and SO wish Ray would have gone with me for the week. I would have loved to have spent more time there touring.
