Do Surroundings matter too?? You Decide!!

Hello,

I've recently started using this cool Virtual Tour that showcases not only the inside of your listings but it's surroundings as well!

For me I think it's important to highlight surroundings of a listing also.

Do you think that surroundings matter?

And would you or your sellers spend the time to enter surroundings on a map interactively?

Please share your thoughts!

Hi Shalini,

Yes, I think the total picture matters.  I want to be able to see the whole thing if I'm buying and I don't want to waste my time with listings that look good only to fine out that the neighborhood is horrible or the landscaping is a disaster, etc.

Of course surroundings matter.  Location, location, location!  Is there a mobile home down the street?  Is it close to schools and shopping?  Is it the most expensive home on the street, or the dump in the middle of a glorious neighborhood?

Actually after looking at the demo I'm very impressed.  I don't like the voice and cartoon featured speaker though....good job.

Shalini,

Thanks for passing this site along! It never ceases to amaze me how innovative people can be and how generous Active Rain members are with what they learn!

I always find something new and interesting to implement every time I visit AR.

Neat idea but creepy girl seems to have a speech impediment :)

Is there an option to lose her?

Hi Christine and Chris,

I got mixed reactions from my sellers on the the speaking girl feature.

But I do believe they have a way to turn it off.

Do you think it is worth the 10 minutes or so to fill out the surrounding info?

Some of the folks who have seen my tours think that it is too much redundant information.. and some think that this is the way to go.

I especially like their PDF Brochure feature! And the Google Earth view is really cool.

Hi Shalini - be careful when adding long urls like this one to posts, it can throw them all out of whack. Thanks!
