Are you looking for something to do on July 4? Well come to a small town with a big celabration going on. It all starts at the Veteran Memorial Park . The Haralson County Veterans have a dedication for all that has served the USA service. This is a very moving service. Then at 1:00 PM they have the Tallapoos 4th of July parade. The streets in Tallapoosa are lined with kids (young and old) waiting on the politians and all the other floats in the parade to come by tossing out the candy. Later in the afternoon at the park on U S Highway 78 there is free water melon . There are also several bands everyone. Then at dark the City of Tallapoosa puts on a fire works show. This is no small fire works show. I would put it up with any fire works show anywhere.
