Daniel 3:18
“But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
In the current world with all of its distractions and busyness it takes great diligence to continue to learn and grow in the things of God each day. Thankfully there is no decree currently to bow down to any certain statue and if we don’t follow it like in Daniel’s time — with a penalty of being thrown into a fiery furnace. But I do ask at what cost would you follow God over all else?
The young men in the book of Daniel named Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had the faith that God would save them even though the law at that time was set up that if they were caught praying to God that they were to be put to death in a fiery furnace. They were not willing to part from their faith even if it meant death to follow the “worldy” way at that time.
Now how often do worldly ways get people off track now? What if you could take back some of that time spent distracted in the things of the world and also use that time to increase in wisdom and knowledge in things of the Spirit? How much better would you feel and how much more of an impact could you make in the life of people around you?
LORD I DO SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON DISTRACTIONS. HELP ME TO REDEEM MORE OF MY TIME AND USE IT TO GROW CLOSER TO YOU!
