Wordless Wednesday - Santa behind Plexiglass

Real Estate Sales Representative with RE/MAX Preferred, West Chester, PA, RS152252A RS152252A

covid Santa

Defeating the purpose of a Wordless Wednesday post by typing words, I feel the need to say that Covid Era Santa Claus gave me a little wave and then an I love You hand sign.  He is wearing a mask and is behind plexiglass and while this is sad, I think it's nice to keep the traditions going even if they are changed just a bit.  The fan, keeping Santa cool, came straight from the North Pole! My inner child is always so happy to see Santa.  It really gives my heart a lift.

Susan- I'm so glad that you share this. I haven't been to the mall to see Santa yet but while it's a bit sad, it does show our desire to adjust when and where we can.

I agree that it shows that we can tweak our customs and stay safe while trying to keep the joy in our lives.

Christmas will definitely be different this year and I am guessing that kids won't be allowed to sit on Santas lap this year.

Hello Susan - creativity is very much alive and on display despite the restrictions, mandates and rules-changing.  There remains many ways to celebrate the season.  It's important to make lasting impressions. . .  Maybe that's the lesson.

I think the lesson for me is what we are learning we can do without and what we need to tweak of the things we can't stand to lose.  Like Santa.  I'd rather see him behind glass than not see him at all.

Good morning Susan Mangigian I'm sure there will be many little ones who are relieved to not sit on that lap!!!!!  but I'll miss my photos with the great grandchildren, especially the oldest one who is 4 and understands who Sants is....

I have to admit that I thought of that.  NO crying babies this year! But sad for all the parents and grandparents to miss out.

Good morning Susan Mangigian,

OMG I haven't been to the malls so wouldn't see what Santa is doing these days..I guess it is a sign of the times. At least they are offering a time old tradition just in a different form. Celebrating the holidays will be different this year.

Everything is different this year.  For the first time, my sister isn't going to be here with me for Thanksgiving.  She doesn't think it's worth the risk.  Makes me sad.

It's so strange to see a masked santa behind plexiglass. Sigh.

It is.  I felt bad for him.  And for the kids.

I get a very childlike delight the first Santa I see and I did feel sad when I saw the plexiglass. But it's better than no Santa.

Well Susan Mangigian I am glad to at least see a Santa and keep the delight going for children and yet it's sad as well. I imagine Santa may be showing up personally in a lot of homes with kids this year so they can sit on his lap!!

I'm not sure Santa will want anyone on his lap this year!  Scary times.

Hi Susan:

While it's sad, that's true of so many things these days that have required adaptation. No doubt Santa will still be popular and have visiting children.

Yes, behind glass is better than not at all.

The fan made me laugh. Poor guy must get pretty hot in there. LOL
