A Thankful Challenge for November...My Clients
The November ActiveRain Challenges are always a favorite of mine. It’s a reminder to count our blessings and it’s so uplifting to read the posts of others.
When I first read Jeff Dowler, CRS’s post I knew that I would write posts on being thankful for ActiveRain and a Gratitude Post for what I am thankful
for.
Since I’m retired, it never occurred to me to even consider writing a post on Topic 1...Thankful for my Clients. However, one day when I was Michael Jacobsing (pondering) I thought about some of my clients and what I learned from them. (thank you Michael Jacobs)
It wasn’t about the staging and what I learned although I’ll have to make a note to post about that someday. No, it was more about what I learned about life.
1.Carol H… Carol was one of my first consultations in Florida. This was in 2008 and the real estate market was in the tank. People were going into foreclosure and agents were learning about short sales. Carol was going through some very tough times.
But what I learned and am very grateful for was that people are basically good. Carol’s agent (who is still a friend of mine) went above and beyond to help her with getting her home in marketable condition. A neighbor and friend brought items over that she could use to help stage her home. Carol had a contract in the first two weeks.
2. Jeff...I am so thankful for this gentleman who greeted me with a fresh cup of coffee and said be brutally honest with me. What do I need to do?
3.Penny & Richard...Beautiful condo across from the beach. Totally remodeled. They were my age and I am so thankful that the reason they were selling their condo was that after a year they realized they weren’t ready for condo living yet.
Larry and I had toyed with the idea of getting a condo on the beach but this was exactly what I needed to reinforce our joint...Not yet!

4.Louis...this client had recently lost her husband and she wanted to sell her home. At the height of the awful housing market, her friends told her to get rid of all of her furniture because her home would sell quickly. Except for her bedroom furniture, all she had left was a card table and chairs. When I met her, the home had been on the market for 3 months.
And yet she was gracious throughout our consultation. There was no blaming or talk of woe is me. I am thankful for being in her presence to see what a beautiful heart she had.
5.Yvonne-this beautiful agent/client asked me to consult on a special seller. Once a year, Yvonne did a freebie. She helped a seller who needed to sell but had very little to offer. She asked if I would do a consultation for free and I gladly did.
Thank you Yvonne for teaching me that it’s not always about the money.
Thank you to my clients for what you’ve shown me through your deeds and actions.
