Celebrate Small Business Saturday in Carlsbad Village

It seems the holiday shopping season comes earlier every year. We’ve already had a couple of Black Fridays at some of the stores, with the original Black Friday coming November 27, just 1 week from this coming Friday.
And that means the 11th annual Small Business Saturday in Carlsbad Village is close by, too.
The first Saturday after Thanksgiving has traditionally become an official day for supporting small businesses, and there will be plentiful opportunities at our Carlsbad Village merchants. Many residents, and visitors, likely support these small businesses already regularly!
According to the Carlsbad Village Association website approximately 67 cents out of every dollar spent at a small business stays in the community. That’s pretty impressive, and important for our local economy, especially in these challenging times.
So bring your masks and be prepared to have some fun on Small Business Saturday. You can expect there will be some restrictions in place due to the pandemic and recent changes with possibly more to come (e.g., fewer people allowed in stores, outdoor dining and carry-out only at restaurants).
So mark your calendar to #ShopSmall in Carlsbad Village on Saturday November 28th. You may be surprised at the variety our Carlsbad Village businesses have to offer, especially if you haven’t spent much time there shopping, particularly due to the pandemic.
In addition to retailers, you’ll find plenty of service providers – day spas, eateries, galleries, wine bars and shops, music, and so much more.
Small Business Saturday is an awesome opportunity to spent time in our Village by the Sea and do some more holiday shopping – you have started, haven’t you? - and support the small business movement in Carlsbad. No doubt most, if not all, our local merchants will be participating!
Stay tuned for information on the Carlsbad Village Treasure Hunt that ends on November 29th. Small Business Saturday will be a great opportunity to spend time shopping AND completing the treasure hunt game card and qualify for some great prizes.
