When we first moved to Napa in March of 2001, it snowed ! The cats wondered, "What is this?" Then it was all sunny and melted the next day. A

Perhaps not as ridiculous, but I raised a hairy hairbrow while watching a Hallmark Chistimas movie set in a fictitious Viriginia city where it snowed ALL THE TIME. While we do get snow storms about once a decade, to see a light, constant snow in a supposed Virginia town made me shake my head.

Yes, Jeff Dowler, CRS. White Christmas is coming... Global Warming or No Global Warming. We (may) only have about 8 years left I have heard from some reliable 'scientific' sources
so I say enjoy the snow in the time left remaining on the planet earth. Photo of me in Scottsdale Arizona (it snowed last year also).

I always felt so bad when my children were little because I worked for a trucking company and snow was a four-letter word. No I probably enjoy snow more than my kids do ![]()
Happy Wednesday evening Jeff Dowler, CRS
Jeff- coming from Houston, snow was a rarity. When we moved to Northern VA, I was like a kid in a candy store every time I saw snow. I loved taking walks when it was snowing.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS, after moving from NY to FL, it felt weird to see Christmas trees and hearing Christmas music in am 80-degree weather. I miss watching the snowflakes.

I get that Beth Atalay I remember our firt Christmas here in Carlsbad. We always went out to cut a tree down, in the cold and snow. Here, I went out in shorts and sandals.

These days in South Texas we seldom have snow... I can relate. Nothing better than listening to the song "Let it Snow, let is snow, let it snow". Have yourself a wonderful Thanksgiving and wishing you snow flakes soon......![]()

Hi Jeff... I love my Christmas music month (after Thanksgiving). I, too, have been hearing Christmas music being played since early November... very jarring to me. One reason we moved to NC was to get away from snow... so I'm a happy camper when I don't see snow from one year to the next or if I do, it's so little that it's gone in 24 hours. As for those trips to see kids and grands in Colorado... well... have seen my fair share of snow storms and I still feel I can live without them.
Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS - I guess it takes a while to get used to Christmas in a warm climate. I am down at our house in Florida right now and starting to see lights going up.
I kind of subscribe to that Christmas song ... "Let it snow... let it snow ... let it snow ... above 8,000 ft. We need that water for the Summer months. Just not in town to drive thru that white water!!
Good morning Jeff Dowler, CRS long before you got therea little over 50 years ago, I was living in Imperieal Beach and it snowed there. Rare, but there are times where it snows on the coast of California.

I haven't been out in stores much so hadn't heard any holiday music til the other day. I'm perfectly happy to see the snow on the mountains.

Ha ha Brian England It's good to be focused.
I guess I noticed because I haven't been out in the stores much this month and it was the first time I noticed holiday music.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS . Having lived much of my childhood in California (northern and southern) without any snow around, I understand your thoughts. Although I am at a mindset that I enjoy snow - in the mountains but not on the roads. I am okay driving in it, but many are not and having to watch out for out of control cars sliding through intersections, or people going way too fast with icy conditions, I look at snowy days with caution. I am fortunate that my husband does most of the shoveling!
Hi Lynnea Miller
I got pretty tired of dealing with the commuting in the snow and ice in Boston (I lived in the burbs for a number of years), and having to constantly watch for other drivers. And by the time I got licensed in MA (2002) I already was pretty sick of the snow and cold and showing homes in the winter (and trying to find parking) was not a treat. No doubt there is a certain beauty about snow, I'm just happy to not have to deal with it any longer.
Jeff
Jeff Dowler, CRS - From coast to coast you certainly experienced different types of extreme weather, beauty and friends.
Gosh, from my earliest recollections, Frank always looked so old to me but looking at that Frank Sinatra recording you provided, he looks like a baby to me and I'm the old fart! The song brings back beautiful memories!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.
Thanks, Jeff.

Hi Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP Yep he was pretty youthful in this recording.

When I first read your title line, I said, "Where is Jeff?" Like you, we get little snow here in Sacramento. I can count on the fingers of one hand, the number of times I have witnessed it in my lifetime.
Hi Myrl Jeffcoat
We see the snow on the mountains many miles away but nothing here...although I understand there has been some snow in years past. I grew up with it in the Northeast, and from many years in New England, and I can't say I miss it.

Hi Jeff Dowler, CRS I had to smile because I too can count on one hand the number of times we've had a hint of snow in the Phoenix area! Back in the 90's as I was driving to a clients house on Christmas Eve no less - it started snowing enough to stay on the ground (not much) but it was pretty cool!
