Real Estate Broker/Owner with Potranco Realty 492107

Castroville Texas was founded in 1844 by Henri Castro, a French impresario and close associate of Sam Houston. Castro recruited many of the colonists for his new town from the Alsace region of northeastern France. Over the years, these settlers would build a community that more closely resembled a European village than a frontier town in Texas. (information gathered through the tour-Texas.com website)

Castroville is located in Medina County located west of San Antonio Texas, township is influenced by the Alsatian-Texan Architecture and culture.

Hi Bob,

I enjoyed reading the history of the name of Castroville.  Funny enough, California has a Castroville that was named after Maria Antonia Pico de Castro!  Its claim to fame is that it is designate as the Artichoke Capital of the World... Happy Saturday!  A

WOW! I'm learning a lot about cities and destinations in TX that I didn't even know about until I came to ba`B Ratliff blog post! So, I did a little snooping around Realtor.com and saw 616 Lafayette ST. Based on the color of tiles, age of house and condition, I was highly impressed because it Bob's write up about the history of Castroville ties together well!

Buyers & Sellers looking to buy in Castorville should call Bob Ratliff!!!
