“The Internet & Reading Bad Information

Joe:

I referred Natasha to speak to you.  She was going to file a chpt 7 bankruptcy with us, but she read online somewhere that she would never be able to purchase a house, or the time frame would be 7-10 years.  She makes about 55k and owes 35 in CC debt. She wants to purchase a house in the not so distant future, possibly with her fiancé in the near future.  I believe Chpt. 7 is in her best interest.  Hopefully, you can assure her that she read bad information. Always appreciate your help!

Though the internet can be greatly beneficial to all of us, there is so much bad information out there that it is sometimes impossible to make good decisions. This is so very true when it comes to mortgages.

When I spoke to the client, I explained that when a person files bankruptcy and there is no foreclosure involved, then the person can obtain a mortgage after 24 months, as long as they qualify income wise, have the down payment and have reestablished credit.

Two years is a big difference from the 7-10 years that she read online.
