The Difficulties Are What Make Us Better
It is the difficult horses that have the most to give you.
Those of us that ride and work with horses know that there are many types of horses we deal with. Some are easy to work with, some are more pleasant, others can be quite difficult. The difficult ones are the ones that tend to have the most to give us.
At this point many of you are all puzzled and thinking "Why is that?"
Like anything in life, the more challenging and difficult the task, issue, etc., the more it will give us in lessons learned, gratification, and satisfaction.
Think about the last time you dealt with something really difficult in your life. When you overcame it, how did you feel? Would you have felt the same way if it was easy? Probably not.
I know when I deal with a difficult horse, it teaches me patience, sometimes needing to go slower and maybe even trying different ways, so the horse understands better what I am trying to say to him. Once accomplishing what I set out to do, I feel so much better.
Even during a difficult real estate transaction, where I am pulling my hair out, I think to myself that this will be my last real estate transaction and that I will no longer continue working in real estate. Once it is completed, I feel completely different about it.
This is when I feel glad that I was able to assist someone and be able to get it to close. I feel grateful that all parties are happy with the outcome. The fact that this particular difficult transaction taught me more for future situations that may be similar and how to solve the issue. Plus, your client appreciates you even more for taking care of a difficult transaction and caring enough to stick with it to get it to close.
So, the next time you come across a very challenging transaction, or any situation for that matter, work on solving it. In the long run, it will be well worth it.
Remember, there is a light at the end of the tunnel even though you may think it is impossible.
