The little red arrow .... Did you know what it means? - TRIVIA

By

I recently learned something which although is so simple, is really quite clever.

I don't think many people know this .... but have you ever noticed the little "arrow" (pointing left or right) on the fuel gauge in your car's instrument cluster?

That arrow indicates on which side of the car you need to fill the fuel tank. (In the pic the tank is on the left hand side of the car).

Did you know about this interesting piece of information?

Has anyone got similar Trivia to share with AR members?

That is somewhat interesting, especially if you own like 5 cars and you can't remember which side it is on.

Gene - I understood that all cars have this arrow. Check if there's not a little light next to the pic of the gas pump.

Now you got me thinking .... remember the old Jaguars that had a tank on both sides of the car? That would have helped having to remember which side to fill up.

Every time I get a new car that little arrow helps me keep track when I go to the gas station the first few times in the new car.  It's especially helpful when I have a loaner car that is a different model than the one I usually drive.

Who would have thunk it.  Did you notice the needle was on "E".  Must be cruising for a low price station. Now if we had an indicator that blinked when you were in the vicinity of low prices that would be useful.

Steve - That's exactly how I learned about "the arrow" - from an Enterprise Representative when I collected a loaner.
